Job Description

"• Teaching and delivering practical for courses in Genetics, Principles and Resources of Plant Biotechnology, Entrepreneurial project, Genomics and Bioinformatics, Molecular Biology, Plant Breeding, Plant Biotechnology for over 200 hundred undergraduate students and four post-graduate students. • Responsible for developing course materials, teaching, grading, developing the curriculum and conduct Labs, and grade them with colleagues. • Designing and supervising student research projects at both undergraduate and graduate levels. "

Title Selection of African Yam Bean varieties for better culinary quality and adaptive capabilities to climate change
Principal Investigator: Prof. I.O. Agbagwa
Co-researchers: Dr. B.A. Odogwu and Dr. Kalu Okonwu
• Involved in the study of the perceptions of various stakeholders in the African yam bean value chain that will enhance the demand and utilization of the crop.
• Screen the adaptive capability of AYB cultivars
• Characterize the diversity of AYB using phenotypic and genomic techniques.
• Evaluate the diversity of culinary quality on a panel of aerial yam accessions.

Title: Screening Dioscorea bulbifera L. accessions to enhance their potential as food and income security sources in Southern Nigeria
Principal Investigator: Prof. L.A. Akonye

• Involved in the study of the perceptions of various stakeholders in the aerial yam value chain that will enhance the demand and utilization of the crop.

• Evaluate the diversity of cooking time on a panel of aerial yam accessions.
