Job Description

Ijeoma Vincent-Akpu, is a professor of Ecotoxicology; and Hydrobiology with activities that include teaching, research and community service within and outside Nigeria. She is actively involved in extensive investigations on fate and impacts of pollutants in Niger delta; Environmental Impact Assessment and Ecosystem Valuation. In addition to teaching and mentoring students at the university, she volunteers in training the local communities in alternative skills to improve their livelihood and had carried out several baseline studies in Niger delta; and trained NGOs and over 25 oil impacted communities in Niger Delta as she champions the awareness of Environmental Impact Assessment and Ecosystem Valuation.

Research Interests

Investigations on fate and impacts of pollutants in Niger delta; Ecotoxicology; Hydrobiology, Environmental Impact Assessment and Ecosystem Valuation.
