"1) Studies on the identification of kinetic, thermodynamic and equilibrium conditions which are conducive to producing optimum results in the elimination of metal ions from effluents with eco-compatible sorbents formulated using agro-waste, as well as the elucidation of the underlying principles of the process through critical examination of the energy transformation variables which will be supportive in the technical transfer of the process design to water treatment plants. 2) Studies on the spatiotemporal distribution and risk assessment of heavy metals and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in surface water, sediment and living organisms in water bodies."
